We were delighted at the success of our Children’s Nature Club at Chatham Green Project. A wonderful group of children from 7-14 years old attended and took part in varied activities on our farm. All the children that attended for three or more days of the club completed their John Muir Discovery Award and Leave No Trace Awareness Certificate.
The programme included time to explore, discover and collect natural objects, learn new bush craft skills, create art and craft projects, play wide games and make homes for wildlife. The group worked so well together showing great respect towards each other and the natural environment.
One mum said this about the club: “We are delighted that our daughter has had such mobile casino an opportunity – it’s helped her self-esteem, confidence and social skills as well as empowered her to learn more about the nature on her doorstep.”
Feedback from the children was also very positive with all of the gang hoping to come back for future clubs! “We had so much fun today, my favourite part was going to the woods and it was great making new friends.”
We will be running another four day discovery club at the end of the summer, 25th-28th August. The club will be advertised closer to the time but If you would like to request more information please contact us.
Along with children’s activities we also offer family events with the next running in the May half term so that everyone can come along and enjoy time out in the local landscape!
We will shortly be posting a calendar of events for 2015 so watch this space for more details!
